Hygiene and Sanitation Specialist:

As a hygiene and sanitation specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing programs that promote good hygiene practices and improve sanitation facilities in communities across Amhara Regional. You will work closely with local stakeholders to assess needs, design interventions, and monitor progress towards achieving our goals. The ideal candidate will have a background in public health or a related field, with experience in implementing hygiene and sanitation projects in low-resource settings.

More Description:

1. Planning
Coordinate with the woreda and town health offices to ensure:

  • one WaSH baseline data for Health facilities and schools as well as community sanitation is timely ready and regularly updated.
  • Woreda and town 5-year CWA Program Plans and annual work plans are timely finalized.
  • Timely and procedural prioritization and selection of Health facilities to participate in the Program as per the selection criteria.
  • In consultation with the Regional Health conduct technical review and provide comments on planning-related documents prepared by woredas and towns to ensure.
  • Alignment of the plan with the principles and procedures of the POM.
  • Alignment of Plans between woredas and towns (whenever possible) to promote economies of scale. For instance, sanitation marketing centers to serve both woredas and towns.
  • Sanitation and Hygiene plans for institutions and communities/kebeles are geographically aligned with water supply interventions in the woreda to ensure a higher impact of WaSH.
  • Consolidate Program woreda and town Institutional WaSH and Sanitation and Hygiene plans (baseline, list of prioritized kebeles/communities and institutions, 5-year plan, annual operational plan, procurement plan, etc.) to be documented and shared to respective regional health bureaus

2. Technical

  • Produce or update the necessary technical training materials and manuals for use by implementing agencies (e.g. Cost-effective designs, operation and maintenance, etc.)
  • Produce or update the necessary program management training materials and manuals for use by implementing agencies (eg. Procurement process, contract management, etc.)
  • Provide technical backup support and training to WWT/ urban) during the early phase of project support (up to the first phase of construction).

Qualification

  • The Specialist to be hired shall have experience in Design, construction supervision, assessment, analysis, and development of Manuals and strategies of public services with a high credit to experiences in water supply and sanitation.
  • Specialist shall have Degree MSc or above in water supply and Sanitary Engineering with 8/6 years or above experience in the water supply and sanitation sub-sector with a high credit to experiences in Design construction, assessment, analysis, and development of Manuals and strategies for the sub-sector.
  • The specialist shall have a strong capability of communication on the subject matter, and the capacity to offer training.
  • The specialist will be contracted:-Working within the team of the water supply and sanitation case team, the specialist will have responsibilities in all water supply and sanitation works.

Senior Accountant:

AlsoOne Wash Project is looking for a senior accountant to join our team and oversee financial management for the One Wash program in Amhara Regional. In this role, you will be responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in managing finances for large-scale development projects.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Reports to and works closely with the Region’s PMLU financial management coordinator and the regional sector bureaus, Woreda, and town financial management stalls, Gets acquainted with the CWA Phase II project legal documents.
  • Reviews and gets acquainted with the CWA Phase II POM and other project implementation documents.
  • Conduct frequent travel to the Zones, Woredas, and towns to review and ensure the quality of the Zones, Woreda and town financial management performance and reporting including review of financial supervision reports.
  • Ensure that the program budget and disbursement schedules are updated and maintained.
  • Visit Zoness and Towns to review the financial management (FM) system application and get feedback for the FM manual and the project implementation manual (PIM).
  • Provide input to the PMU quarterly report on FM.
  • Ensure the proper integration of the financial information into the overall project monitoring and evaluation system. Assist the independent auditors at all level.
  • Produce monthly, quarter & annual report.
  • Maintain a sequential filing system of National and/or International consultants, suppliers, etc, of CWA Phase It project contract agreements to be possible to give an account code for each contract agreement upon receipt.

Roles &responsibilities:

Job Summary: The Driver is responsible for giving service and handling deliveries promptly for the Regional Health Bureau staff. Although, One Wash Project staff, and they may have to work on working days and weekends to accomplish their duties.

Job Description:

Manage and drive vehicles following the laws and producers of the Regional Health Bureau. Inspect the vehicle before and after a journey to ensure that it is in good condition to minimize wear and tear of the vehicle. Timely prepare and submit vehicle performance reports after each journey. Ensure that all vehicle movements are recorded in the vehicle logbook, and Fuel consumption records regularly.

again, the driver take cautious measures on keeping original keys, tools, and reserve tires. Perform minor repairs and maintenance and spring-cleaning of the vehicle assigned to him. And also,  return the used tire for assigned staff while the new tire is changed. Maintain drivability of vehicles and supplies of all essential equipment of the vehicle. Identify vehicle faults, promptly report to the supervisor, and advise on appropriate repairs and services as necessary.

  • Consistently monitor vehicle performance, submit maintenance requests, or advise timely and follow-up accomplishments.
  • Verify records of all work done on each vehicle and the respective job cards.
  • Interact with visitors in a manner that is representative of the Regional Health Bureau.
  • Carry out any other relevant activities as assigned by his supervisor.

Job Requirements:

The driver must complete grades 10, 12, and secondary school. 3rd-grade driving license and 2 years of work experience in driving.

Senior Water Supply Engineer

As a senior water supply engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing water supply systems. another, you provide clean and reliable water to communities in Amhara Regional. in addition to this, work closely with local partners to assess water sources, design infrastructure, and oversee construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a degree in civil engineering or a related field, with experience in water supply projects in rural areas.

Roles & responsibilities:

The Senior Water Supply/Civil Engineer will report to the Regional PMU Coordinator. and also, contribute to the overall Technical aspects of the rural and urban WSS project: including planning, Implementation, follow-up, and monitoring of the contract effectiveness concerning program Guidelines, manuals & standards.

Participate in the production or updating of the necessary manuals and guidelines. Support the regions, woredas, and towns in the study and design of water supply and Sanitation projects. Prepare training documents, and training plans and deliver training in priority areas. Identify the woredas and towns program gaps and management deficits and provides them with the technical assistance or the capacity development they require.

Job Summary

  • Frequent field visits (60% of the assignment duration) and follow-up up the Program activities at all stages.

  • Follow up and assist the Regions, Woredas, and towns on overall program.
  • Management starting from ToR and RFP preparation, negotiation and agreement up to end of contract implementation.
